The store near me rearranged EVERYTHING! Even the employees didn't know where things were! My mom left me to aimlessly wander the store for 2 hours while she went and took my sister somewhere. I'm not good when I'm left alone.
I found this little beauty and totally fell in love!
I found this picture in a book and I fell in love with those curtains. Aren't they neat?
Isn't this burlap cool?
I totally filled my cart full with pretties to show my mom.
I mean seriously! My mouth was watering.
I totally love this too.
This is just screaming nursery at me. Love it!
Like seriously! Look at this coral! I found it on the sale rack for $4 a yard.
And isn't this damask great!
But don't let that fool you.
The first time it was good. I mean the girl was kind of spacey and obviously didn't know what she was doing.
The second time we sat there for 30 minutes. and waited. and waited. Finally we went to customer service and told them.
Another half hour later and a new woman finally showed up for another class.
She had to help us and the other class at the same time.
It was horrible.
And then she couldn't stay late and help us because she had a family BBQ.
And so those pants never got finished and it was a TOTAL waste of about $100.
And you know what they gave us?
A coupon! A silly coupon for another class!
First of all, their classes are 50% off very often.
And second of all, why would I even want to take another class after the first one!
And that my friend's is just one of the many reasons why I hate Jo Anns.

Please be patient as I tell you the exact history of my room.
My room has never been 100% "done." It's always been a mash of things.
When I was born, my parents painted my room baby blue and mint green for a girl. I was outraged growing up! And when my sister came along, it was just as bad. Two little girls in a boy like room. And it wasn't feminine or anything! No pretty white furniture just old leftover from everyone else.
When I was maybe 6 and my sister 3, we painted it purple. We chose "plum" and "lavender" if I remember correctly.
Around the time I was 12 and my sister was 9, we painted the top half lime green and my sister got a loft bed. That was it.
Until now.
We dismantled that sucker and are trying to sell it on Craigslist. We started rearranging and finally have some GREAT results!
We took this old book case that belonged to my mom's dad.
Yes that is a fish! It's a betta fish named Bubba.
Anyways, we bought 9 fabric boxes from Target and filled them with stuff like scarves, belts, and socks.
My mom bought some curtains (Target of course!) and they really keep our room nice and dark!
We got some pink sheets from Target and covered our futon. It's SO convenient having the futon in our room for when friend's sleep over.
I hung up this old coat hook that used to hold our costumes in the basement when we were young. It's sat in the corner of my craft room until now! I couldn't get the screws into the wall all the way but you can't even tell. shhhh.
Between the book case and my bed is this old desk from my dad's dad (I think...) Anyways, we vowed to keep it clean and we now have a great workspace for homework! I also hung that bulletin board back up.
Yes, that is a Hello Kitty mini fridge! My sister got it for her birthday last year.
We got this chair from Office Max. It looks a LOT better in person! But I put it together all by myself! woo.
Oh and here's my sister's corner of the room. I attempted to make her bed for the picture... She may or may not also have a certain poster of a boy band coming in the mail soon! Shhhh!
Also a heads up, Amazon has really cheap posters! The shipping costs more than the actual poster. Although, the shipping and price combined, you can save up to $10 and they have a MUCH better selection than in stores!

Here's my little corner of the room. We got new comforters at TJ Maxx and they fit perfectly in our room!

Well make that a success!
My parents some how ended up with this trunk from my grandpa. It's an absolutely gorgeous piece in great condition. But the top of it was horrible. I mean that fabric... those stains! She always used to set two brown pillows on top of it to cover up the fabric.
We just lifted the top part up and the cushion actually unscrewed fairly easy.
It was so simple and took me practically ten minutes to just stretch the fabric over it and staple! We were originally going to use the fabric to make a head board but my mom found this one at Salvation Army for around $20. It's not something I would have originally picked but it's definitely grown on me.
I mean just look at it! It goes great with her new bedspread which only comes out when the dogs are gone.

Or if you're me and your hair is physically uncapable of being put into a messy bun, then a perfect cinnamon rolled, ballerina bun.
Anyways, the trick is to add excitement and surprises!
Maybe you add a nice bump in the front....
People see you from the back... a normal bun.
You turn around and WHAM!
Maybe you flower on one side of your hair...
People see you from the one said... so, so.
You turn around and WOAH!
So anyways, the key is to play things up!
My secret is braids. They're in right now and I'm actually good at them.
And plus they're the one thing my hair will cooperate with.
My favorite is the upside down braid! I just can't really do it to myself... at all.
This is obviously the normal persons reaction...
"Oh a bun. How creative."
"What what's that in the back?"
"OH MY GOSH! HOLY MOLY WHAT IS THAT?"
To do this braid to someone else, have them lay down or bend over a chair or toilet facing you. Pull all the hair you won't use away and pony tail it or clip it back. Just do a normal french braid starting at the base of the hairline and secure it along with the rest of the hair into a bun or pony tail. It's actually really simple! The only hard part is the positioning!
Your braid will probably look better! My sisters hair does not at all like to be braided! UGH!

...because thats the only day of the week I don't wear sweats.
Oh and let's ignore how big my hips look please. They seem to look a lot bigger in pictures.
Shirt- Forever 21 ($14)
Jeans- Target ($22)
Shoes- Gap ($9 on sale! woot woot!)
Scarf- Winsdor ($6 on sale!)
This right here is my Church nursery working wear. Comfy, casual, and not sweat pants. I just got these jeans a few days ago and I love them! They're stretchy so they fit just right!
I just realized how bad our lawn looks in this picture. It just rained for 3 days straight here. Come on grass! Grow a little!

We're hosting a bridal shower at my house in the next few weeks for a soon to be cousin. Well hopefully people show up... I'm a little scared since we've gotten more no's than yes's. So fingers crossed people come! Either way, it's going to be awesome! We (being my mom and I) decided to make some decorations.
First you'll need 8 to 10 sheets of tissue paper. Stack them all up as best as you can. Fold it accordian style, creating approx. 1 1/2 inch folds
Cut the edges at either a point or a half circle. You may need to do it layer by layer since it may be tricky.
Carefully pull the layers apart and wallah!
We just tied the wire tails around our light and I think they look pretty good! They look a lot better in person. No worries!
Don't mind the mess...

I've been pretty busy lately.
I've been busy gluing and burning myself...
I've been taking care of this handful right here....
I've been busy eating...
I've been busy riding in the trunks of cars backwards...
I've been busy drinking... fruit punch that is!
I've been busy riding in the car just about everywhere... I got my hair cut and it's SO short.
I've also been really busy cheering (bruising myself)...
So maybe when I'm not so lazy, I'll write up some craft posts!
